2024 PNG INVESTMENT WEEK CONFERENCE
Laba participated in the PNG Investment Conference in December 2024. We welcomed over 120 visitors to our booth on the first day, receiving fantastic feedback. One attendee even described Laba as "a success story!" The event showcased Laba's four joint ventures and underscored the company's progress and commitment to growth and development.
LABA MILESTONES
In 2024, we marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Kumul Petroleum, Tripatra, and Laba Holdings for the Papua LNG project. Tripatra will spearhead construction efforts from our office at Vodafone Haus, while we also had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister James Marape to discuss our ongoing projects and commitments. This partnership advances our mission to contribute positively to national development and ensure the project's success.
WORLD AIDS DAY 2024
On World AIDS Day, Team Laba rallied together under the theme "Take the Right Path" to shine a light on HIV awareness and inclusivity. Led by Serah and Morea, a powerful session emphasized the importance of support and understanding in helping individuals affected by HIV, rather than stigma.
LINE HANDLERS
We're proud to partner with PNG Ports to empower local women in the maritime industry! Four talented women from local villages have completed accredited training and are set to make history as the first female Line Handlers at PNG Ports. This initiative promotes diversity and inclusion, creating equal opportunities for women in their communities.
PNG RESOURCES SUMMIT 2024
Laba participated in the inaugural PNG Resources Summit 2024, themed "Building on Our Legacy: PNG Resources & Energy." Our CEO, Isikeli Taureka, delivered a presentation on our transformation, joint ventures, and upcoming community initiatives. We are committed to driving sustainable development and creating a positive impact in our communities.
VEGETATION CONTROL TEAM
Our Vegetation Control team is doing great work! Organized into four dedicated crews, they work year-round to maintain the safety and beauty of the Papa-Lealea road and LNG plant site. Beyond grass cutting, their versatility shines through with contributions in rigging, carpentry, earthworks, fence repair, and concrete building. Their efforts prevent hazards and foster a healthier and safer environment for everyone.

SAFETY TOKS
Every Friday, we hold our Safety Talk sessions, which serve as a crucial opportunity to discuss emerging safety issues and plan effective responses. Led by Kalesita Naime, Laba International's Quality Work Health & Safety Environment (QWHSE) Manager, these weekly gatherings provide a platform for open discussion and proactive preparation. Our team at the head office comes together to address safety concerns, share insights, and strengthen our safety culture.
GT LOGISTICS ACHIEVES OVER 900 DAYS ACCIDENT - FREE
Our GT Logistics team achieved over 900 Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Free days from January 22 to July 14, 2024, marking a significant milestone after overcoming challenges from three MVAs in January 2022. Thanks to a focused stand-down period and extensive training, our team was able to refresh and refocus their commitment to safety.
LABA DIRECTORS VISIT THE PNG LNG SITE
Our Laba directors, along with several staff members, visited our new office at the PNG LNG Project site to explore recent developments and strengthen our connection with the team. The day was enhanced by a delightful food tasting session provided by Laba International, who recently secured the catering contract. It was truly inspiring to witness our team in action, showcasing their professionalism and commitment to excellence. This visit highlighted our progress and the exciting journey ahead.
